Age Requirement

The renter and any associated drivers must be a minimum of 21 years of age holding a valid license for at least 1 year, for categories A & B. All other categories, require a minimum age of 23 holding a valid license for at least 1 year.

Driver's License

Drivers must have a valid license held for at least one year. An International Driving License is required by Greek Law for all renters that are not citizens of the European Community or who do not have a European Drivers permit. Driving License in characters not readable in English or Greek must be accompanied by an International Driving License.

Fuel

Fuel is always paid by the customer. The customer is obliged to return the car with the same level of fuel as it was on delivery. There is no refund for the petrol if there is more left in the tank. A charge will be levied if the car is left with insufficient fuel. Unleaded type is to be used only.

Rental Length

Minimum rental period for pre-bookings is 3 days. First hour delay in return is not charged. Next 3 hours are charged at 10 € per hour. Over 4 hours delay one day rate will be charged.

No Show / Cancellation Policy

In the case of a no show or cancellation less than 24 hours before the reservation, your deposit will be retained.

Free cancellation if notified 7 days or more prior to the rental. If notification has been given of a cancellation 24 hours or more before the rental date, a cancellation fee will be levied.

Taxes

All rates include 24% Value Added Tax.

Delivery and Collection

All cars should be collected from the GT Cars office during office hours – 09:00 – 14:00 & 18:00 – 21:00.

Arrangements can be made in advance and for delivery and will levy a delivery charge.

After-hours collections (21:00 - 09:00 & 14:00 – 18:00) are subject to a charge.

All drivers must show the following documentation to hire a vehicle:

Passport
Valid EU drivers license or international drivers license
Credit Card as a guarantee

Ferrying the car & across the border rentals

The car must not leave the island of Ithaka. Advance written authorization of our company is required by any renter wishing to ferry the car from the island of Ithaka. No breakdown cover is offered if the car leaves the island of Ithaka, all costs are incurred by the renter.

Smoking is not permitted in the hire vehicles

Insurance

The vehicle is covered by a comprehensive insurance policy: CDW – Collision Damage Waiver.

CDW – Collision Damage Waiver – Covers:

Insurance against fire, theft & third party cover
Recovery on the island of Ithaka
Repairs or Replacement in case of a breakdown
Damage to your vehicle subject to an excess (whether the accident was the fault of the driver or a third party)
- A & B grade = 700 euros
- B, C, D, F grade = 850 euros
- G grade = 1050 euros
Not covered:
- Wheels, tyres & punctures
- Windscreen & Headlights
- Lost or damaged Key (200 euro charge for replacement)
- Undercarriage
- Upholstery & interior of car

FDW – Full Damage Waiver Insurance is available at an additional cost

This covers damage to your vehicle with zero excess
Covers damages to wheels, tyres, punctures & headlights
Not Covered
- Windscreen
- Lost or damaged Key (200 euro charge for replacement)
- Undercarriage
- Upholstery & interior of car

In the event of an accident or breakdown:

Contact the GT Cars Office immediately on + 30 6944587166.
If the car is returned without the office being aware of any damage caused, this negates the insurance.

The company is not responsible in any way for the personal belongings of the renter or passengers left in the vehicle.

Negligent Driving

For example driving under the influence of alcohol, drugs, on the wrong side of the road, on unauthorized roads, obvious acts of disregard to the vehicle, using incorrect fuel, intervening Greek traffic laws. in general driving without due care and attention will negate your insurance. You will be responsible for all costs incurred.

Traffic Fines

Tickets and fines resulting from any violation of the Greek Traffic law during rental period, is solely the renter's responsibility.

If any such fine is outstanding or not disclosed to the company at the end of the rental period (contract), the violation will still be charged to the renter.
